Depending on how far along your company is on SEO, you may need to write a basic strategy first, and then revisit it after doing some work to audit and analyse your current SEO efforts and data (more on that later!). Search engine optimization (SEO) is often at the top of the to-do list when planning a site.

<meta> tag helps your pages rise to the top of a search engine result.

In this blog, we'll explore the Meta tags module, to add metadata to your nodes, terms, and users.

1. Installation

Install the module metatag

2. Configuration

The Meta Tags module comes already configured but you can make changes.

Lets configure the meta tags for the Blog content type.

    • Click on Add a meta tag default

      Add default meta tag Image

    • Select Blog from the Type dropdown.

      Select Content type Image

    • Enter the token [node:content-type:description] in the abstract field and save

      Add abstract

Add metatag for individual node

Go to Add content and add a Blog(Your content type name). Scroll down and click on the Meta tags tab.

Add Meta Tag for Individula node image

Add metatag for Taxonomy term

The process is the same when setting up meta data for vocabulary terms and users.
